The Malaysian legal gamblers are pleased to hear that after the take-over of the damacai ,a licensed operator to run the 3 and 4 digits forecast gaming business, the Chinese schools in the country can be subsidized in terms of fund.
The Malaysian Chinese community ,however, is cautious that the subsidy the Chinese schools that are expected to get, will not jeopardize the allocations the schools have received from the government as they consider they are being looked after by the government under the present policy.
Several Malaysian top entrepreneurs have carried out this effort to ensure its success.
Leaders of the Malaysian Chinese and politicians have expressed and stressed that the efforts that are being carried out, do not mean that they are encouraging the people to take part in gambling.
The common sense here is that you hear before you see. As seeing is believing, the next thing you act before you see the result.

What you say is the constitutionally guaranteed rights
The constitutionally guaranteed rights as stated in our Federal constitution have to be respected by all in order to maintain the harmony, stability and unity of the nation which is to achieve the Vision 2020.
To question the existence of schools which adopt their mother tongue is tantamount to question the wisdom of our Constitution.
Experts or any professor might have forgotten our constitutionally guaranteed rights before 'making their freedom of speech'.
Citizens should safeguard our Constitution at all time.
Attached herewith a brief comment appeared on a e-newspaper in repect of the street-signboard,being a chitchat topic in commonly seen coffee-shop.
"The only state(Penang)government in our history that is brave enough to exercise its constitutional rights.
The fact is that there was never a state government dared to exercise such right does not mean that the present state government has no such constitutional rights.
The actions taken by the present state government should be commended and I should have no hesitation to hail its gut to do such a right thing." (dated:13 Nov 2008 Kwong Wah e-newspaper)

The horrible landslide in Ulu Klang
On hearing the news of landslide recurrence tragedy in Ulu Klang after 15 years,I was shocked and sad.
The urgency is to save lives.
What the authority can do is to investigate, followed by taking steps to prevent recurrence. What I can see is, it is very difficult to find out who should be responsible for the tragedy, mainly because of the natural factors. Whatever allegations may be,it is extremely difficult to substantiate.
To prevent such recurrence, there is no choice other than learning a lesson from the two tragedies.

'It takes more than one day for the river to freeze'
Another by-election is to be held on 17th January 2009, this time in eastern state, Trenggannu.
No matter the by-election is to be held in anywhere, the main topic is to be focussed on matter pertainning to livelihood. One example is the prices of goods, including prices of food.
Prices, the people s main concern, affect the livelihood of people and hence affect the votes to whom they should cast.
The simple theory is that 'it takes more than one day for the river to freeze'. This means that whatever accumulated grievance they have is not within one day,but a period they experience and the polling day is the only day they are able to air their grievance.
Economy issue is the primary factor that decides whose victory.

There was prejudice even before the MCA presidency poll
There was prejudice as to the moral aspect of candidate even before the recent MCA presidency poll.
It is natural that the prejudice in the mind of the president elect has resulted its No.2 MCA leader Dr. Chua or even his camp to be marginalized. This can be seen from the release of the Johore MCA line-up.
This situation has caused the work of integration within the party after the 308 General election to be more difficult and could have an adverse effect if snap election is to be held.

A slow remedy cannot meet an urgency
The RM625 rebate the authority implemented earlier to certain vehicle owners is outdated and is now meaningless as there are owners who still have to wait for another 4 months in order to get this so-called ‘subsidy’ while the global oil price has dropped substantially.
It is ridiculous and highly unfair as these owners have not got ‘anything’ they are supposed to get.
It seems that the authorities concerned have no plan to amend or modify what is now viewed as ‘outdated and meaningless scheme’ it earlier planned.
It is not wise to have such scheme as it is being implemented and with no modification being made.
